I may only have gotten one vote at last nights’s DFL caucuses to challenge Chip Cravaack but I did get a good night’s sleep after posting observations about the precinct caucuses. I also got that thousand yard swim in this morning and taken a run out to Goodwill to drop off some books stopped at Menards to pick up hardware to install a new paper towel dispenser and got a very satisfactory lunch at the Duluth Grill on 23rd Ave. West. I even had enough left over for tomorrow’s lunch.
I wonder if as a Congressmen I could have nearly as fulfilling a morning in Washington DC?
I also got one more little organizational detail finished for the book. Over the last week beginning with my stay in Florida, I’ve been rereading six years worth of interview notes. I’m still not through with them all but I organized the ones that were on 8 by 11 sheets of paper and took them over to be photocopied this morning. I didn’t do them all just the most significant notes. I’ve taken some on placemats that didn’t easily fit into the copier. The difficult ones constituted at least a quarter of the total. As it was I was just shy of 200 pages of notes.
I’ll be cutting them up to sort the pieces by subject into another set of files for easy recovery. I’ve been finding fascinating things I’d lost track of as I go through them again. Again I almost despair of getting this done by the filing date for candidates.
