Claudia and I have been watching episodes for some dark German comedies as he lunch togethr for a month. We enjoyed a series about a crime scene cleaner and then found the actor again in Murder with a view. Now we’ve started a new one season series about a stressed lawyer who has adopted meditation to center himself. It introduces itself as he leaves a beach house, dawns a hazmat suit and puts a leg in a woodchipper by the lake. Reminisent of the series Fargo it was nice to see an echo of Minnesota bleed into German Comedy.
I too feel calm. Some weeks ago I accepted that while I might find some viral push that wakes up my one man campaign for Congress I will be satisfied to keep reminding who ever will listen that our congressman Pete Stauber is a villian. I make that point in the column I turned in for next week which is 99% a letter Representative Tom Rukavina sent to a nothern Minnesota newspaper. My soul contribution is the snow sculpture it inspired six years ago and my disclaimer at the end which I usually italicize.
I’ll be heading to serve luch at the Damiano Soup Kitchen in the next half hour so I don’t have a lot of time to post here but I wanted to link to this week’s Reader article Read Between the Lines. The photo I took of my hand gives the joke away….

My column begins:
“It’s been a week since the un-Nobeled President Trump blew his no-more-foreign-wars pledge to Tehran and back. I heard myself swearing at Pete Hegseth the same way my dad swore at President Johnson every time more soldiers with good feet were sent to Vietnam.”
