I’ll post my latest Reader Article when its up online. I asked the editor about it and he wasn’t finished uploading. He kidded me when I told him if it hadn’t run in this week’s Reader to just run it next week so I could hold off on writing the follow up. His told me that not staying ahead of the game was poor thinking. After this post I’ll get to work on my next Reader column.
I think I’ll write about my jury experience. As with all my series like my current series on my 1972 I don’t mind interrupting them when other shiny objects catch my writer’s fancy.
On Thursday my French pen pal read my blog post announcing that I was about to go into jury duty. She texted me when I was in court and this is a screen capture of my brief conversation:

Its the second time I’ve been called but the first time I made it through the Voir Dire interrogation and actually worked as a juror. But I’ll hold off for a week.
I will mention one thing that I got a kick out of. Before we went through Voir Dire one person told me she was sure that because of my notoriety I’d be struck. I wasn’t. As we waited to go through our first day of testimony in the jury room there was a little general banter and our lone woman on the jury seconded another person’s comment that he was also surprise I wasn’t struck. The next day two of the fellows and maybe it was three said one after the other that the refusal of the Duluth School board to let citizens vote on the Red Plan was a raw deal. I told them that I was obviously in good company..
Of course, everyone who supported the School Board’s action but who is now swooning over Trump and his cult claiming that the 2020 election was stolen and fearful that this bogus claim could lead to a real election being stolen in 2024 might now think back to when they told people like me that, yes, Duluth should have had the right to vote on the Red Plan BUT that it wouldn’t have passed thus implying that the result – The Red Plan – was a justification. They must have been Republicans.
And this is of course why I should defeat Pete Stauber. He’s anti-election if we’re gonna lose too!!!
