Taking the Boys to DC part one of perhaps 10 or 11 columns to come

The Reader published the first of what could end up being a series of 11 columns about my ruminations following a week-long sojourn to Washington DC. Its not per se about the trip with my grandsons but rather ruminations on Washington as the tail that shakes the dog and my experiences with it over a period of sixty years and six visits. Those visits include the summer of 1971 when I was a Congressional intern. I roughed out eleven different columns. They will be non-sequential although I will number them. They are likely to be interrupted by other columns as events catch my eye like the column two weeks ago about the Fox Presidential Debate among all the Republican candidates who will soon be plowed under by the Cult of Trump.

So here is the Reader’s online version of Episode #1.
