S. worries about my verbal excess

My office floor is clean for the first time in many months. I took my Mother’s inheritance in 2015 and spent it in two directions. Turning my cluttered attic into an office was one of them. Helping Art Johnston pay for his attorneys was the other.

Facebook just sent me a reminder of this yesterday with a picture of the carpet layer rolling out my new carpet five years ago. As I said. Today for the first time in ages it is uncluttered. Here’s a picture I took of it so that my eight loyal readers and my so far reluctant Congressional supporters can visualize where I sit when I make up a two minute video for my Congressional campaign. I sit on the gray exercise ball with the red felt covers. Claudia complains that when I skype I bounce up and down on it making video viewers dizzy. Here’s a pic from tonight as I prepare to fill out the still blank post titled post using the awful three-letter-word “ass.”

If things work out from my wildest dreams next year I could be posting a picture of my Congressional Office. I thought for sure I could link to some comments about my summer stint in D.C. in 1971 as a Congressional Intern. It was a year not unlike 2020. A bomb had gone off in the Capitol and I had to enter the Congressional Offices through a metal detector. But, not only have I failed to write about “dirty danish ditties” online but I could find no mention of my employer, Congressman Ancher Nelsen, in my blog. I’ll have to correct that some day. I know what Congressmen’s offices look like. Late one night as I poked around his office alone using the free (for me) long-distance watts line I found a bottle of scotch in the Congressman’s hide-away. I had a lovely summer in D.C. and that summer has not escaped some comment on the blog. Here’s a post about my gay neighbors.

The primary reason I moved heaven and earth, or at least piles of papers, off my carpet was to begin laying out the materials for my book intended to draw notice to my campaign. As the winter months passed and I fretted over this book I knew that a month or two of application would get it mostly put together. I’ve not been in a rush. As my “eight loyal readers” know I have spent a lot of time studying French for my October visit to a 45-day French immersion class in Aix. I’ve been told that this lovely city in Provence is the second most popular vacation destination in France. Well, my class almost certainly be canceled because the vaccine for the Corona virus is 12 to 18 months in the future. I’ll have spent close to three years studying French on my own by that time but it looks like I’ll get another year’s practice before I get a crack at the immersion course. So, my French studies are going to slack off a bit as I ramp up my book writing and preparations for a Corona campaign.

S. is one of several French citizens I’ve met online to trade linguistic skills. S. can read and write pretty well in English as long as the subject isn’t too opaque. S. read my long winded reply about American politics before I posted it here and S. also read my post with “Mr. Brownstein’s” warning that radicals like me will never like or appreciate Donald Trump and can’t wait to foist a dictatorship over America if the Republicans can’t fiddle with the election to guarantee his victory. Well, Mr. Brownstein, it isn’t Joe Biden hectoring gunslingers to protest in their state capitals. Hell, if liberal America ever faced off with conservative America in a Game of Thrones the libs would be outgunned by the cons by at least a five-to-one bullet ratio if not double or triple that. No, Its Donald Trump who rules the Timothy McVeigh crowd.

Perhaps S. read ahead to my blank post titled: “The GOP is pro-life my ass…” S. asked me if I wasn’t afraid of people writing nasty anonymous letters to me because my writing was “aggressive”. I admitted it happens but noted that it was rare. S. wondered if America didn’t take “free speech” a little too literally. I told S. I always thought long and hard about anything I write and then added that today Donald Trump sets the standards and I simply match him.

I was a lot keener to write the my ass post this morning than I am after a long day. That’s always the problem with a teasing headline. It may not be done tomorrow but I’m going to start it tonight. I took part of today to write my Reader column for next week. If I don’t change my mind and write something else it will be titled: “The Crimes of Barack Obama.”
