I didn’t stick around to hear Gary Glass’s presentation to the Board about our Plan B. Neither did the Tribune’s education reporter, Sarah Horner. It had been a long night already and Sarah’s byline is now showing up on non-education news because the reporting pool keeps shrinking at the Trib. Mary Cameron left early too.
Laura Condon was kind enough to make sure that Plan B got on the agenda.
Dr. Dixon repeatedly stated that the original Plan B petition language limits the District’s flexibility in drawing up a plan to present to the State for “review and comment.” This is in contrast to the School District which apparently has carte blanc to alter the Red Plan at will.
The Superintendent also stressed the cost of making a Plan B report for the Dept. of Education even as its becoming apparent that Let Duluth Vote is not happy with the straight jacket Dr. Dixon intends to impose on the sketchy petition language. That language was written by Tim Grover.
Board Chair Grover said he had a foul word to use for such spending but was refraining from using it. Tim is a minister’s son.
