Freethinkers

I spent a pleasant couple hours this morning with Duluth’s Freethinkers. There were about 30 or so people in attendance. I gave a brief accounting of my background and answered questions for close to an hour and fifteen minutes. There was considerable interest in Bush’s trustworthiness over the Patriot Act and potential his Administration’s abuse of the 4th Amendment. We had a spirited debate about whether faith, in the religious sense, is a dangerous and corrosive force or simply a force that can easily be abused. I got lots of questions which I tried to address briefly but which always seemed to require a little long windedness.

Mel, sent me an email afterward telling me he thought I did well, which probably means I didn’t embarasses him.
