After a week of no access to the Internet I’m almost ready to get back to the campaign. We arrived in Ribe, Denmark a couple hours ago and will fly out tomorrow morning. If I get a chance after dinner maybe I’ll try to upload some more photos of our travels although that will probably have to wait for my return to computers that I’m familiar with. This one has a Danish keyboard and its taken me typing a couple dozen email messages to get the hang of it. The email was to my campaign staff of Mel and Chris who have probably been delighted to have me out of their hair.
Catching up on the email shows some snafus. My radio ad didn’t have the magic words, “I’m Harry Welty and I approve of this message” so I’m not sure if any of my radio ads hit the airwaves. I also sent word that I want my campaign to buy up all the used white sheets they can.
I suspect the guys are pretending they didn’t get that one.
I have lots of google alert email to go through yet. So I’ll sign off for now and go look at a Cathedral or stroll the town square here in Ribe. It was founded by tempermental people – the Vikings. Just saw one of their cemeteries in Aalborg. They stole each other’s headstones. I’ll post a picture. It looks like another tempermental fellow may have been born here. At least they have a statue of him, Jacob Riis, the great American muckraker who exposed the misery in America’s ghettos at the end of the 1800’s. Now that’s a fellow to be proud of.
