If you can’t read this first page of my just printed flyers A larger version of this and its back page can more easily be read on this post.

Above you see the front side of one of the 4,000 flyers I carted home this morning after my Church Men’s group met. A few of the men were surprised and pleased to see me standing but most didn’t know I’d broken my back and pelvis three weeks ago. I walked in flawlessly but when my better half spent $1.50 to park at UMD a little afterwards for me to carry my 4,000 flyers home (8 reams worth of paper) I was limping under the strain. It will be interesting to see how well I can walk up and down 21st Avenue E this afternoon knocking on doors to pass them out.

I view myself as a protector of children and the flyer mentions this. (I wrote it) I also sell myself rather grandly as wishing to be “Donald Trump’s worst nightmare in northern Minnesota.” Why would I do that? Well because America the Beautiful’s second verse spells out what’s wrong with Donald Trump’s view of America as he ransacks our history museums the same way he erases evidence of his likely serial rapes. He has probably avoided paying Jean Carrol the $85 million awarded her by the courts. He’s also doing his best to erase Jeffery Epstein from history but that history is catching up with him like this tale from “Katie” that I’m inclined to believe.

The familiar song America the Beautiful acknowledges what every true American who isn’t a cosmetician popping pimples knows. We aren’t perfect. The song which is as patriotic as you can get admits our imperfection by calling on God to “mend our every flaw.” She will have a lot of mending to do after President “47” finishes his second term of office.

Here are the lyrics. Every verse is a rebuke to Donald Trump’s brand of self important braggadocio,

America the Beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress,
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country love
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years,
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
