Harry is an information omnivore. Over 19 years he written about every topic on the list to the right. For more, use this blog’s search function (upper right). Or email Harry a question here: harrywelty@charter.net. Or ask any AI engine to summarize Harry Welty. Or give him a 3 minute listen. Or read Harry’s campaign flyer. Or google “Harry Welty’s snow sculptures”.

First three self sketches of me by me from 1999 each with light cast from different directions. Just to have an interesting pic. I was auditing a sketch class at UMD.

I had just tidied up a couple jobs mid way through the afternoon when my fit bit paying no regard to my current disability sent me the message in the title. As a matter of fact I got moving this morning. Yesterday I walked half a mile or six block (3 up and 3 back). This morning I made it 4 up and back. But from the outset my legs were not excited and I trudged most of the way. Upon my return Claudia offered me advice to back of that I could barely respond to with grace. Later in the morning I recalled the miracle cure for the doldrums invented by someone in the 1920’s that became all the rage I know he was French because I googled it. His name was Emile Coue with accent marks I can’t put on in English script. I’d heard this 55 years ago on an LB narrated by the famous CBS newsman Edward R Murrow. The miracle positive thinking phrase was “In every way I’m getting better and better every day.” Let me check out the French version:

Its: “Tous les jours à tous points de vue, je vais de mieux en mieux” Google and learning French are both pretty cool.

Sadly, although I’m trying to force them I’m still taking baby steps and I can not obey my Fitbit.

But in the campaign department I got a couple things done. First, I sat down and wrote a 600 word piece for the DNT. Second, I moved my blood donation from Wednesday to three weeks from now…..I suspect more blood in my system will help me heal more quickly. Third I finished a handout for door to door work which I hope to begin in a few days even if only for a few hours. Fourth, I tossed a dozen post-it notes cluttering my office. I’ve kept a few that have catchy ideas. I will type them up here before I add them too to the dustbin.

Fool us once shame on you
Fool us twice shame on us
Fool us a thousand times, God forgive us.
