I have ordered enough of the sticker above to put on 250 lawnsigns.
I have sent a 500 word column to the Trib that I’m so pleased with that it will become my first door to door flyer:
This is the first paragraph:
“We face the arrogant ignorance of a Caesar-like President’s war on public schools as he shutters the Dept. of Education, silences science and history, neglects troubled children and withholds Congressionally approved financing. Coming, as I do, from a family of Republican teachers I am red hot.”
My school board campaign fits so well into my decade of chagrin over 45-47 that should I run for Congress after winning the School Board the campaigns will fit together like a hand in a glove.
The sticker will be a little different in order to fit snugly under HARRY WELTY which is part of the sign I put up for the August primary last year against Pete Stauber. He is so much more vile than the traitor I’ve been calling him since January 6th.
I have read another three chapters as I near the conclusion of Chernow’s book Alexander Hamilton mentioned in preceding posts. After Jefferson’s win I was no longer quite so intent on my reading. Hamilton has become something of a spent force after making the first big political mistakes of his life. His son was killed in a duel in the last chapter presaging Hamilton’s future. The success of a transition by Jefferson’s party called Republicans then but which have more in common with Bolsheviks today is not destroying the Constitution. Hamilton’s brilliance as the builder of the national government was too good and as Hamilton thought between nightmares of Jefferson, Thomas is enjoying the power he railed at George Washington for wielding.
The paranoia then is a good template for the paranoia today.
The QR code on my lawnsigns will bring people to this blog if they are curious where it will take them. I have decided to pay for my campaign expenses myself. Other than a few hundred dollars to print a black and white letter to pass out and maybe reprint my DNT column in the Duluth Reader I don’t expect to need a lot more money.
But, should I run for Congress I will encourage people to consider donating to my Congressional campaign account which I never closed at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign. This is the button:
