History on my mind and Volume twoing

I vacuumed my office after another month of spreading projects on its floor. I vacuumed half the floor. I simply moved the papers to one end of the office to vacuum the rest. I am determined to file the papers on the unvacuumed half of the floor yesterday…..except I didn’t do it then.

I have squandered one of the seven days I could have broken into new territory by postponing that filing. I’m not mad at myself. As I think I indicated in the previous post I’ve got a volume two for my unsold books in mind. I’m delighted by the idea that they can go directly to Kindle and Amazon without my having to haul them around. Did I also mention that I was thinking about campaigning for a POL a Party of Lincoln right after the primary? I’d been hearing about Hulk Hogan’s turn at the Republican convention and I watched it. I don’t at all mind reading the reviews instead of watching it myself and the Hulk’s shirt tearing didn’t do much for me except remind me about my old phy ed teacher’s sour attitude about professional wrestling. You can google the Hulk’s turn if you want to but you will never get that nine minutes back.

I still had four hours left on audible of the book about Ft. Sumter by Eric Larson the Demon of Unrest. Claudia and I started it when we drove down to check out the Cicadas but we found it difficult to listen to at our house. So I began listening to it while I spent two hours vacuuming our church while out Custodian is out of commission. I finished the last three hours this afternoon.

The South’s paranoia, bluster and outrage were all echoed in Trump’s Milwaukee coronation. I covered it a little in my book but that book was more of an intro to Harry Welty as a regular guy than it was a full fledged history. If I go on to a book two I might try to manage that.

For my next post I’m going to add one of two things that could be passages in a new book. Its part of my current ruminations and is only included on the blog as a preview of possible coming attractions. Because I formated a list that the HTML of the blog won’t set up I took a picture of the presidents of my lifetime and my grandfather’s lifetime to squeeze into the text.

If I can last a little later into the night I’d like to give my Dad a little more ink. He once told me that when the rich take the poor for granted we get French and Russian revolutions. He was a smart Republican.
