My Prophecy’s 30 years ago

Two of the stories that caught my eye this morning showed me the blind split personality of the Trumpian universe.

The second story was from Forbes about a superhero TV series called Homelander. The producers have sucked illions of Trump worshiping young men into the story of a really nasty superhero who has all the charm of a Nazi Aryan. In the third season he has been revealed to be gayish and Redit is full of the anger and angst of the unhappy fanbase. The worship up to know of a superhero who kills innocents because he’s pissed off fits nicely with a column I wrote last year. The Monsters we need

This end of the Republican party cult is joined by the other story I listened to on NPR about pro-lifers who are promising to take care of the poor and indigent people who are financially ruined by pregnancies that come to term. To my great irritation the interviewee was promising that now that Roe was overturned her organization was eager to help such women. As I told my wife in disgust I told a group of Pro-life Republicans in 1992, thirty years ago, that the party needed to worry about children who fell through the social safety net more than abortion. I was booed off the stage. So thirty years later having gotten their wish these good Christians are only now planning to undo the neglect they fostered and encouraged over the last 30 years? Who are the real monsters?

So, I’ve decided to give you the speech that got me booed off the stage by good Christians Replicans so you can hear from the mouth of the prophet.
