Was it me?

My wife just got a text message from my Brother-in-law in Bismarck, North Dakota. He’d just heard about the handcuffing at our School Board meeting. He asked her if it was me that got handcuffed. Boy oh boy did that make me roar with laughter.

I’ve already had my brushes with national news due to my preoccupation with the School Board but not this time. Although I must admit how tempting it is to organize a posse of like thinking folks to invite being arrested at the next school board meeting. In that case I might get a chance to share in the attention.

This blunder of Tim’s reminds me of the young woman who faked her kidnapping to win a boy friend back without it occurring to her that her disappearance might lead to her becoming a national news media obsession. WTG Mr. Chairman.

If I applied Chair Grover’s flimsy pretext for having Loren Martell removed from the School Board meeting to the sometimes angry people who addressed our school boards we could have had hundreds of people removed in our eight years. Its ironic that a couple dozen of them were folks who later worked to elect Tim to the board.

All over the nation people will be reading about how a guy just like them got hassled for expressing his opinion. Viva la Revolucion!
