Maybe the confidence expressed (two posts ago) in JCI’s consultancy by the St. Louis County school board was misplaced.
No doubt, school officials are disappointed, and with reason. The school board, whether you agree with them or not, has invested an enormous amount of time and energy in this project. They have also invested a substantial amount of our money in land acquisition, project design, and engineering. They invested more money over the past couple weeks, foolishly putting both projects out for bid on the recommendation of their consultants.
So JCI has been discharged from the Two Harbors school district…
Has subjected the Duluth School District to a two law suits and a three year controversy…
Has over promised the City of Duluth (lied to win a contract) what it could save the City on the retrofitting of the Duluth Steam Plant…
And it has advised the St. Louis County Schools to go down a dead end road.
That’s a helluva lot of energy wasted within a radius of 75 miles by and on an energy company. Johnson Controls is sort of like Northeastern Minnesota’s British Petroleum.
