This letter-to-the-editor in today’s Trib from yet another person I’ve never met, John Jelatis, is right on target until the last paragraph.
“Questions about the School Board’s competence and integrity are only reinforced by its failure to submit a public petition for a voter referendum to the state in a reasonable time frame. The petition was completed Dec. 1 and was stalled for more than 4½ months. It’s reasonable to infer board members deliberately obstructed the process in the hopes the petition issue would go away and they’d be able to advance their plan without public input.”
John rightfully and indignantly maintains that the District has dragged its feet on acting on our petition but then shortens the delay. (If the Trib had been paying attention it might have helped him correct the mistake as they have offered corrections to my letters in year’s past) In fact the stall has lasted three times longer. The petition was being circulated almost a year and a half ago. It was presented to the Board in March or April of last year. That’s 14 months ago not 4 months.
