Minneapolis needs a $1.2 billion plan

Uh Oh! The Minneapolis school population is shrinking so its time for them to deal with “excess buildings” and to downsize. If they followed the Duluth model with a student body of 32,000, three times more than Duluth, they would OK a $1.2 billion dollar building plan – without a vote!

A Minneapolis administrator who obviously hasn’t talked to Duluth’s Dr. Dixon about Duluth’s plans to bus the living Heck out of Duluth’s students next year makes this nonsensical statement:

“We know disruption interferes with learning,” Stever-Zeitlin said. “We’re the last people who want to make changes for change’s sake.” But “we can’t get to a place where we can focus on the achievement gap unless we get rid of some of the excess buildings.”
