The Grand Tour

In two days I’ve seen the bowels of almost every school in the District. I toured them with architects from ATS&R who I’ve come to regard as serious minded professionals. Denfeld’s boilers are particularly impressive. I took a lot of photos of boilers yesterday and would upload some examples now except that my camera went on the fritz. The Architects were very impressed with the maintenence of the Duluth schools.

Last night we had a four hour meeting and discussed how best to honor the 75 words in the Let Duluth Vote petition. I’m strictly a layman where construction is concerned but I was very impressed with the discussion. Kerry Leider, who I’ve been critical of in this blog, was very helpful. No one knows our District’s schools as well as he does. I think the participating architects were impressed with the data that our volunteer engineer Art Johnston had assembled.

I believe that ATS&R is the largest architectural firm specializing in schools in Minnesota. I can see why.
