By George

I keep finding myself thinking that I have to plan which day I need to visit my Mom to sing to her again and realizing I’ve got more time on my hands. When I sang I would tell her what was going on in my life and remind her about her past to keep the neurons humming. For Christmas I’ll treat my readers like Mom.

Tonight we are putting up the ornaments she made and sold in the 1980’s. I probably got my inspiration for sculpture from her fanciful paper mache Christmas ornaments. They were quite popular in Mankato and she made new varieties in a limited supply each year. She signed them “by George” and as time went on she placed each ornament’s year of birth on them. Her kids were given nearly complete sets each Christmas. Above you can see the ones I removed from Styrofoam packing peanuts tonight for hanging from greens above our sun room.
