The latest on the Red Plan. Central may not be sold.
JCI gets the figures first and massages them to minimize the damage. It would not be a lost $10 million in sales it would be a mere $2 million additional cost to taxpapers:
“But because it would be considerably cheaper to turn Central into a middle school than it would be to build an entirely new middle school, keeping Central instead of selling it would add about $2 million to the total taxpayer cost of the facilities plan, not $10 million, according to project planner Johnson Controls. The additional cost for the owner of a $125,000 home would be less than $1 a month.”
