…too bad I was busy doing other things.
The Sell Central Now posts took up time but there were lots of other things to do. I had to be the conservator for my Mother and pay bills. I had to deposit donations to my campaign. I’m in the black. Hooray. I had to run to the library to find a copy of the Strib story with Claudia’s quote in it. I had to pick up a headboard at my daughter’s to bring to our house to put on one of our beds. I had to put up outdoors Halloween decorations. I had to spend thirty minutes learning how laid back the Duluth School Board is these days.
In fact I only had one lawnsign to worry about today. Mine. I came back from a quick shopping expedition at our local grocery store and tried to pull into the alley by our driveway. A little white car was blocking the entry and I had to stop on 21st Ave to wait for them to move in order to drive into my garage.
As I waited a lithe young brunette with straight silky hair almost down to the small of her back ran out of the car and began tugging my lawnsign out of the back yard. I rolled down my window and yelled, “That’s OK. Its my sign. Just make sure you get permission to put it up in someone elses lawn. The girl looked over to me embarrassed and said something about just moving it over to another part of my yard. She then began furiously pushing it back into the ground. She rushed back to her car and hopped in the passenger side and the drive took off down our alley like a bat out of hell. if she’s reading this I’ll let her wonder if I memorized her car’s license plate.
She looked like a high school girl. Frank Wanner probably sent her. I’m sure he misses me on the School Board.
