My frame of mind….

…is very satisfied.

I alarmed my sole volunteer and generalissimo Liam, by telling him I didn’t really care whether I was elected. Been there Done that is sort of my attitude. Oh it would be thrilling to right the Titanic like they did the Costa Concordia yesterday over in Italy. I don’t think the new school board can do it without me. But, I’m a little fatalistic. Our schools will probably heal. It may take longer without me but then I once thought we’d never close an unnecessary high school and look what happened. History takes surprising turns.

No. I’m just satisfied because I finally feel like I’ve won the freedom to say what I think. That’s a perquisite of old age. So is acting like a kid when you are really 62. I sort of pity the kids in their teens and twenties, who with all their health, vigor and future, are in a constant state of confusion and anxiety.

I may hurl down imprecations like the one I tossed out in the last post but gosh it feels good to do it. I’m a right jolly old elf with a lightening bolt in hand. Take that you ninny. Take that! And you too!

That last sentence is the one young people are supposed to conclude with lol. I hate lol’s. They’re too much like a laughtrack.
