This columnist at Townhall.com says Keith Ellison, Minnesota’s and the Nation’s first Muslim Congressman, shouldn’t be permited to swear his oath of office on the Koran. Is there a New Testament in the Bible that Jewish Congressmen swear on and, if not, does the Torah count as a Bible?

Hi Harry! My understanding is that every congressman is allowed to swear into office using any book he wants. Most just use a ceremonial Bible such as our Jewish Senator Norm Coleman did but it’s not required.
