Yesterday I was busily trying to get a dozen last-minute campaign jobs done before I headed off to Europe. Because India was scheduled to call again I had to get that fundraising letter printed. After vetting it to Chris and Mel for their input I sent it to a printer sans my signature. The printer told me to scan a signature and email it to them separately and they would insert it into the text. Then I waited for my latest call from India.

India hadn’t been able to receive my email over the last week because some new patch sent out by Microsoft interfered with their email system. All my email to them had bounced back over the previous week.

We worked out a temporary solution for my still unresolved difficulty and now India will have two weeks to work on it during my absence.

When I finally hurried over to pick up my printed letter I discovered that my signature was dinky. It looked like an elf had signed the letter. That’s not quite the image I wish to leave in voters’ minds.
