I graduated from a “factory school”

Not that I wouldn’t like them to change a little. If Santorum is his children’s teacher they will be better ideologues than Americans……..just like their Dad.

According to Mr. Sweater Vest:

“Yes, the government can help,” he continued, “but the idea that the federal government should be running schools, frankly much less that the state government should be running schools, is anachronistic.”

He said it is an artifact of the Industrial Revolution, “when people came off the farms where they did homeschool or had a little neighborhood school, and into these big factories … called public schools.”

Homeschooling is a modern phenomenon. In olden days where there were no schools the rich hired tutors to educate their children. The poor marked their signatures with an “x.” Check this chart to see how many children were high school graduates in Rick’s good old days.

The founder of the GOP, Abe Lincoln, got about a year’s worth of public schooling in his backwater home in an Era when about 3 of every 100 children had a high school education – factory or home. Lincoln was embarrassed all his life by his sorry education. I suspect Santorum’s words would not impress the Great Emancipator.
