Nous avons Trump dans notre collimateur

For the third week in a row I’ve written several abandoned columns that seemed too big to reduce to my preferred 800-1000 word format only to come up with something else that had been ruminating in my mind to submit to the Duluth Reader on Friday’s deadline. I was going to send in something deadly serious for Next Week’s column instead of the April Fools column the Reader’s owner was looking for. I haven’t written one of those for a long time.. I’ve always liked Tighty Whities but wry commentary is more my strength than outright comedy. When I gave Claudia Broligopoly to proofread she surprised me by saying it was funny.

I’ll retitle this short post soon. At the moment its working title is “Stuff without a title.” I will be attending what I think will be a pretty big meeting of Indivisible at Duluth’s East Highschool in a couple hours and I promised the editor of the Reader a story because he told me he will be busy putting the April Fools Reader edition together.

I have seen these Trump spoof lawnsigns around town. They must be local. I just googled them and didn’t see one. Give me a sec and I will take a pic of one near my house…….

….. Damn its been taken down. I wanted to check to see if there was a disclaimer not that one was required. This is the image that I think was on it:

I thought I was looking for a picture of Trump golfing but no this is him playing tennis. There were so many golfing pictures that it reminded me of all the flack previous Presidents like Eisenhower got for spending their important presidential time on the links. No one expects Trump to do anything. One of the things that will kill his popularity is that more then his first term he is filling the Federal government from top to bottom with the sort of bottom feeders that will do what he wants and think they are protected. At least four years ago he had eager and honest Republicans that thought doing the nation’s work was their assignment not protecting his Emperor’s new clothes conviction that he was some sort of divinity or God send.

In two months before the real storm hits there are gigantic storm clouds on the horizon. We are in the eye of the biggest political hurricane ever to hit the continental United States since the Civil War……and this time even the south will be against Trump with cuts to the PO, Veterans, Social Security and American decency.

So one more bloggy and Frenchy thing.

I don’t proof read my blog posts too well and I got this question from, “Adelaide,” my French pen pal:

“Why did you write this: “I wrote pretty well sums up the kind of party members Florida Governor Ron DeSanitize the schools wants to create.”

Ron de Santis: Ron de Sanitize?”

This is the post in question and this was my reply about my poorly written sentence:

Its not a well constructed sentence. Its the work of someone not taking the time to proofread. I WILL HAVE TO BETTER connect “well sums”.

Sums is sum like a summary or the act of addition …gives a good summery of…Sanitize is to clean up-a play on words. Sanitize can mean clean to make healthy like a kitchen counter or a hospital room or it can mean to hide awkward information like the Trump administration. Does every minute of the day to hide stupidity. In this case the governor is hiding historical facts from children in schools because he does not want them to be “woke.” Meaning well educated about the blemishes of US history. Those blemishes are spreading like a bacillus in Trump’s America

A little later I told Adelaide that Indivisible was meeting at East High school and that we had him in our gun sights then punted and wondered if “sights” should be “sites.” It should have been “sites.”

I wrote that in English and Adelaide sent me the French sentence.

“In French we would say. Nous avons Trump dans notre collimateur.”

Ah great. Now I have my blog title.
