Prediction: by 2019 50% of high school courses will be online

Did we put all our eggs in the brick and mortar basket?
From an email rcvd today

At school board meetings I often read a qoute from the Superintendent of the Year. His prediction was that schools were going to be less bricks and mortar and more anytime/anywhere learning.

Yesterday a segment on MPR had a figure of the percentage of students that will be doing on-line learning. Looks like the shiny new buildings won’t even be paid off by then.

A recent report projects that by 2019 50% of the courses that HS students take will be on-line.

The statement happens at minute 1350
