Turning people murderous

Eight years ago Claudia took me with her on a peace studies mission to Israel and Palestine. I’ve written about it once in a piece that was meant to be a full series. A friend of mine now retired from the State Department has been sharing his frustration/anger with the leadership of Israel that not only has thwarted peace keeping but inflamed tensions and now threatens to destroy an independent judiciary so as to keep power and avoid jail time for his grifting while dividing.

This photo popped up today. Taken and put on Facebook eight years ago today it was a view from a hill surrounded by five settlement villages of Jewish people who have kept the Palestinians in court for, as of eight years ago, 25 years to rest the land from them to settle more Jewish settlers. Its no wonder Israel will never find peace.

I submitted a column to the Reader after returning to Minnesota eight years ago but never heard back from them and thus didn’t write a fuller series as I had initially hoped. But I resubmitted the first one a few years ago when the Republicans began hyperventilating over a Minnesota Congressman who has found fault with Israel.
