How Senator Cruz could have become President

I didn’t watch the Oscars last night. Claudia and I did watch the Will Smith movie about the father of the Williams sisters a couple days ago. I have no idea who won the oscars and I am only mildly interested. I almost ignored the clickbait from People Magazine with a photo of Smith slapping Oscar presenter Chris Rock but I surrendered and read it.

I just wrote my next weeks column after church today…..or rather I finished editing it. It required a labor that began on Friday if not Thursday. It mentions the cravenness of Senator Cruz from Texas and his failure to defend his wife from Donald Trump while he’s now busy giving Donald Trump the full brown nose treatment. He’s got nothing but contempt from me here. SO. When I read how Smith charged onto the stage when Rock joked about his wife’s baldness with an allusion to the movie G. I. Jane and slapped Smith after and before once again repeating from his seat in the audience that Rock was not to put his wife’s F****** name in his mouth I thought if Cruz had done that to Trump he’d be president today. Jada Pinkett has a common disease that causes traumatic hair loss. I don’t blame Smith. He made the Oscars a hell of a lot more relevant with his defense of his wife.

In a mild defense of Rock I’m not sure he knew Pinkett had Alopecia. He may have thought she was making a fashion statement. If he did know he deserved a worse beating than he got.
