Perhaps things aren’t as happy at Central as we’ve been led to believe

From another email from a concerned parent sent to the Board last week:

Dear School Board Members: I am the parent of an 11Th grade Denfeld student attending the combined schools this year. It has been hell for a lot of the kids. My son is an athlete,a merit/honor roll student and also has a part-time job. He is a very good kid. He informs me that there have been huge fights almost every day since the beginning of school. They are happening inside the school, outside and in the parking lot. The fight a few days ago was by my son’s locker by the glass trophy cases where the kids were pushing and punching each other into. He backed away as to not get hurt. He also informs me that his best friend is meeting with the principal at Proctor about transferring there. He will make the transfer by next week if all goes as planned. He too, a good kid but can’t cope with the fights,crowds-lack of getting the classes the kids want and when they want, congestion everywhere and on and on. I hope you all understand that this year will be a stressful-waste of time for many of the kids. The classrooms are so jam packed -all my sons class sizes are 30++ kids. The desks are so close together, you can touch your neighbor. This situation is going to be detrimental to many students. If anyone tells you things are fine there- they are NOT FINE! There were 3 police officers in school today. I hardly know what to do for my son- we are thinking about options. Please read this with great care.
