I’d be tempted to circulate a petition demanding a vote on the following question.
Any plaques placed in Duluth’s new schools commemorating their construction under the Red Plan will include not only the names of the School board members and the contractors responsible for their building but the following historical notation:
“This school was part of the single biggest school building project in Minnesota history. Under a dubious interpretation of state law and contrary to a statewide tradition this building was authorized by the Duluth School Board without the approval of the voting public in a bond referendum.”
I suppose any such referendum question would be non-binding on the School Board. Pity!
