The sky is falling

While we supporters of the right to vote have been accused of alarm-ism its gratifying to see the people making this accusation flattering us through imitation. The Red Planners are now warning that if we halt any portion of the still growing Red Plan it will costs us millions in lost time, money and law suits. Worse yet, we will all wake up on Christmas Day and find nothing but lumps of coal in our stockings. Either that or we will run out of clay for our dreidels.

Well, it may never have occurred to the other side’s Chicken Littles that by not spending the hundred million or so that could be saved through some other alternative plan or by simply having Central High become the new “western” middle school our District would have a little cushion to deal with this calamity.

The Red Planners are doing every thing in their power to remove any cushion. Every time a new contract is heralded for coming in lower than expected (which of course ignores the possibility that cost overruns or change orders will jack it back up again) our School Board adds new projects to spend money on rather than saving the excess for something unexpected like for instance – cost overruns.
