The Trib’s editorial writers made up for their story on the homeowner who does not wish to be kicked out on his keister yesterday. After assuring readers that the District will have a heart in dealing with the folks whose homes have been drawn into FI Salter’s cross hairs they conclude soporifically that:
“The process of acquiring property isn’t easy for either side. Pain and hard feelings are difficult to avoid. But they can certainly be minimized when government keeps in mind what it’s haggling over isn’t just a plop on a map. It’s a home. Owned by real people living real lives.”
If I were the homeowner I get the heebie jeebies after reading that. Your Father in Washington will give you a real good deal if you sign this treaty and move next to the trading post down by Cattle Skull Corner.
