Equity for everybody but the middle

The Red Plan’s so called “equity” for east and west Duluth (We gotta have a stadium for Ordean High because West Duluth treats Greyhounds so nastily) leaves out one part of town – the middle.

Equity is so important to the Reds that they will spend $45 million on a piece of rock so as not to use the best secondary facility in town Duluth Central. That point is well made today by a property developer Joe Kleiman in his letter to the editor.

His first paragraph:

Central High School’s soccer team played its second ever and final game at its on-campus soccer field on Sept. 26. Wow! All the beautiful fields on the Central High School campus, and this team just got around to playing its second game ever on the field? Central High School is home to recent improvements to all fields, including football, tennis, softball and soccer – money projected to go down the drain with the current red plan.
