Its no great surprise to see that the School Board is considering raising our taxes higher.
The people in Let Duluth Vote have been proposing for a long time to pull back on the least justifiable Red Plan spending and ask the Legislature to permit Duluth to apply this money to the District’s operational budget or to return it to taxpayers.
As an alternative the School Board could try to negotiate the sick leave provision out of its contracts which allows teachers to apply a hundred or more days of “sick leave” toward post retirement health insurance premiums. That would require a school board to pay attention to something other than the construction of shiny new buildings.
Hey! I can dream can’t I?
By the way, the following graphic that the Trib got from the District assumes unproven and dubious Red Plan savings. Dr. Dixon will be long gone by the time its apparent they were sheer nonsense.
