Creative writing

Here’s a prediction: The readers of the Trib’s letters to the editor and the online comment sections will quote Gary Glass’s analysis of my writing ad nauseum.

“Harry is a creative writer. He likes to imagine things; he does it all the time.”

Although repeating this will be used mostly to discredit me they will be doing me a favor. Gary told me this morning that he meant it as a “compliment.” I did point out to Gary this may not be how his words are interpreted. On the other hand, the number of people reading my site is growing daily and that may very well be a testament to the readability of my prose. Either that or the District has spent waaay too much on attorneys who keep pouring through my blog for incriminating information. So far, the Board has sacrificed about four teacher’s worth of salary this year on attorneys.

Gary told me that he hadn’t read anything in my blog yesterday about my speculations on his motives for filing for the First District seat. That’s not surprising considering that the District’s attorneys stripped him of his legal counsel, initiated a publicity barrage aimed at removing him from the School Board while he was under orders to go through all his files to give the District personal communications as though he was the person on trial.

I remember Cynthia Robinson, a needy girl in my Fifth Grade class, who love to tell other kids on the playground what other kids had said about them to start fights. If Gary’s complimenting my writing skills is the worst thing the Trib’s Education reporter can find to put on the front page of the Trib I’m glad. When I publish my book explaining the Disaster folks like Mr. Hankey are blind to I hope that my creativity will make it a page turner.

I’m not sure my poor skills will ever match the creativity pouring out of the Duluth School Administration which has made folks like Mr. Hankey such ardent Red Plan Fans. Unless the District finally hands over the public documents and communications between District employees and JCI sales reps preceding the consummation of JCI’s sweetheart deal I doubt that the public will ever really appreciate the extent of Dr. Dixon’s powers of imagination.
