Just had breakfast and chatted with the day clerk about her experiences in boot camp and her visit to Sasebo, Japan. She told me there were a few protestors to greet the Nimitz when it pulled into port.
I told her that I knew why they were there. My Dad had sailed into Hiroshima just after “The War” and wandered around the debris field that was left picking up souveniers. We always wondered if that had anything to do with the cancer that did him in twenty years ago. Probably not.
Its early yet so I can do a bit more posting before I scrub up and report at 8AM to verify that the bond is OK. I just noticed that a couple old posts I thought I’d uploaded never made it. That was true of the last one about my upcoming deposition. Originally the post reported that I was scheduled for Monday but the defense attorneys have pushed it back to Tuesday. Good! Since the taxpayer’s attorney, Craig Hunter, overnighted the 1,220 email messages I put on a disk for their reading pleasure to them they’ll have more evidence to catch me up with any little deceits or contradictions on my part. I’ll just shrug them all off as being ironical.
Here’s another post I thought I’d uploaded a couple days ago:
Its true. At our meeting tonight Rich offered a vote that in effect embargoed what I know about the progress or lack of it our surety bond is making through the system. It just kills me not to spill the beans.
I have been operating under that aura of quiet perseverance for a couple days now. It was tested over the past week. I can report, however, that as I type this before crashing for the night I’ve had the most uplifting day in many months today.
We will suffer more setbacks but this has been the best of days. And the weather was pretty good too.
