The taxpayer’s checks cleared

The Sixth District Court ordered the taxpayers take a $100,008.10 check from the St. Louis County Court Administrator and convert it to a $100,000 surety bond. Obviously the four checks we gave the Court cleared and in the week they sat in the Court’s account earned $8.10 in interest.

I stopped for a burger before bringing the check home. Without thinking I set the bag with the burger on the check. Thank goodness it didn’t leak. I’ve asked a retired banker and former School board member to shop around for the best rate for a surety bond. We’ve got six business days to convert it. That will be a lot less stressful than the last six days trying to raise the bond before the June 30 deadline.
