When will the mice roar?

I’ve been quite intrigued by the timidity of Duluth teachers. Like everyone they feel powerless. Furthermore Dixon’s mad rush to build all the schools now so that a new school board can’t alter the Red Plan and to create a justification for saying that too much money will be lost by delay has left hundreds of teachers fearful of being stranded. They will not be able to use their seniority rights to stay in their current schools but will be utterly at the mercy of Dixon loyalists who would be happy to reassign any critics to undesireable teaching assignments. No wonder they are keeping their mouths shut.

But Duluth teachers are not stupid. As long as Dr. Dixon has six of seven votes on the School Board he will be regarded as having a whip in his hand. After the election he will likely have 5 hostile school board members and two sycophants. Teachers might begin flexing their muscles under those circumstances. At least the ones who are still left despite his fiscal ineptitude.
