Babysitting Applause

I’m too pooped to write the serious posts now. I can hardly keep my eyes open and I won’t be watching the 10 O’clock news. But I’ll relate this.

After a day racing around to donors, city councilors, getting checks to pay newspaper advertising bills and much much more I ended the day babysitting the Tan Man.

At 5:30 we went over to the shaded grove of trees by Ordean to listen to a trio of LDV related folks. I put the Tan Man on my knees and fed him chicken nuggets and french fries. Afterward we put together the train tracks I brought for his Thomas the Tank Engine collection. When he tired of these he led me on a merry chase through the legs of attendees. for twenty minutes.

Then I got my chance. I swung Tanner around like the man on the flying trapeze and began a discourse on how even if we lose the case because we can’t afford the $100,000 bond I was finally confident that the Red Plan would die a still birth. When I was finished the group broke out in an ovation for me.

I murmured that we did look a little like members of Cirque de Soleil.

I’m so bushed I don’t think this makes sense. I’ll fix it up in the morning.
