When you can’t threaten eminent domain

A homeowner across from Ordean gave me a little account of her recent meeting with the District’s realtor Natalie Hoff of FI Salter.

I had a meeting with Natalie Hoff yesterday…..she basically said that if I don’t accept the proposal the school district offered me, they (ISD #709) would build the parking lot around me….they didn’t want or need my property anyway. I questioned her on this….She worried about justifying my costs to the school board because “all” 40 other people have accepted their offer….she is also concerned about wasting taxpayers moneies….I almost laughed out loud…and she is amazed that I won’t accept the proposal given me. I mentioned that ISD #709 does not even have a variance to put a parking lot on the property….she didn’t know anything about that…..she has her job to do and she has to answer to the school board and Mr. Dixon. I think they have to abide by the setbacks that are part of the zoning code…….what are your thoughts?
