The Lies of Keith Dixon #1

I’ve thought about making this headline a regular post for a couple months now but since I haven’t been keeping that close a track of them I shrugged off the idea. But Dixon just told a whopper and I can’t let it pass.

He just sent an email to Mimi Larsen about why everyone who hasn’t drunk his Kool Aid (which seems to be six members of the School Board and the contractors making money on the Red Plan) are so silly to keep offering alternatives.

I stopped reading half way through when I read this bull****:

“The school board and our consultants looked at what Tom Boman proposes. There is little difference in costs, as our facilities assessment demonstrated that Central High School has substantial repairs that need to be made (including the largest asbestos problem in the district). However, by choosing Central over an eastern site, we lose the revenue that comes from selling the valuable Central site, which puts a greater burden on taxpayers.”

This man thinks of himself as a “civil engineer.” He’d probably be as crappy at that as he is as a Superintendent. Apparently he doesn’t realize that fifteen or more years ago the District spent millions removing asbestos from Central High. (apparently when all of JCI’s coackroaches looked through the buildings to jack up the repair costs no one noticed this.) Today there is much less asbestos removal in old buildings because rather than remove it it is generally coated so that its fibers no longer can peal off and float in the air.

NOTE: If you have anything you think qualifies as a lie by Dr. Dixon feel free to email me explaining the circumstances and why you think it qualifies as a lie. I might include it as one of Dr. Dixon’s lies if it was uttered by one of his subordinates who might have said it under duress. I’ll also consider things that his Board members have said that up to now I’ve merely treated as evidence of their ignorance. From now on I’ll treat them like that old saw about the law where “ignorance” of it is no excuse. Email more lies to me here.

Simple “disingenuousness” might earn an honorable mention……What’s disingenuous mean? That’s when you don’t technically tell a lie when you are intentionally giving out misinformation – like when a little kid tells you that “no” he didn’t grab a cookie off a platter because he bit into it first and pulled it off the platter with his head.
