Without a paddle

Loren Martell describes our recent meeting with our bond advisers and explains the arcane rules which demonstrated that the past school boards have left us stranded up Effluent creek without any paddles. I know it was previous Boards because Loren caught Nora Sandstad’s declaration of same:

Art Johnston asked our financial advisers who put us in this position:

“Did you actually think we could affort $70 million out of the General Fund? Do you actually think any school district could afford to pay $70 million out of its General Fund?”

Said our Bond advisor:

“That’s not my call. I can’t answer that question.”

Retorted Art:

“Who’s call was it? Somebody did this.”

Loren continues:

Member Sandstad didn’t turn her microphone on, but correctly answered the question, loud enough for everyone to hear: “The Board.”

Oops! The Reader has yet to put Loren’s article on its webpage. Until they do you will have to pick up a paper copy.
