Where I am now

I sent this email today from a supporter who is very discouraged by the Red Plan’s continued juggernaut.

We’ve all felt discouraged at one time or another and I’m no exception.

My model in how to deal with this bodily excrescence is Barack “no drama” Obama – except that I don’t mind a little drama now and then. The District will be able to squander a couple million dollars a month until the next building season. That’s a crime but it can’t be helped. They’ve stayed a couple steps ahead of us since we got started and now like in a hard chess match our efforts must be built around getting a few steps ahead of them.

Getting info out is a big part of that but I can’t get the older folks who hate the Red Plan but who don’t have computers to read any website. They get valuable bits of insight periodically like the recent Ronstrom article and the Kleiman letter to the editor. They also get the tripe from folks like Deb Johnson who keep passing on the myth that we let our schools fall into disrepair.

Don’t be so sure about the folks out in Denfeld. I think they are much less enamored of the Red Plan than the folks out east. Yup, they are glad they get to keep their Denfeld but they don’t like getting schnookered any more than anyone else. That Stadium is the last straw for lots of folks, people out west and east included.

Some of your despair comes from a sense of helplessness. Some of mine comes from the realization of how much I have to do. I’ve got two principal goals now. Getting good lawyers and the money to hire them. Spreading the news is one way of doing both of these things. This will take some time and I’ve reconciled myself to doing what must be done to accomplish this.

I have always believed that this monstrosity would be killed eventually by its own stupidity. This has been a good learning experience for me. It turns out that stupidity can be very hard to kill and its why someone penned the fable about the Emperor’s new cloths. I’m still the little kid looking at the naked king parading down the main street. Just like that little kid I’m having a hard time understanding why everyone isn’t screaming about his nudity.
