Dog Trails, YES – Red Plan, NO

Some of us are taking the City to court because the Planning Department will not authorize an Enviornmental study on the $293 million Red Plan. But the Planning Department has authorized such a study for three dog trails. Go figure.

Meanwhile the Ordean site which will be a traffic nightmare and possibly a death trap awaits JCI’s safety study. Its hardly necessary. A quick look at the site plans with 1,600 kids coming and going with a single entrance and only half the parking needed make its inadaquacies plain. Meanwhile MNDOT and the City Traffic Engineers are treating it like a hot potato rather than simply admit the obvious – that Ordean needs significant alterations to be remotely acceptable. It would be nice if any of our City Councilors commented on this and, heaven forbid, demanded action.
