What Judy must be thinking

Today’s Trib has a letter-to-the-editor from Bill Punyko the husband of the new School Board member Judy Seliga-Punyko. Its a pretty crude appeal to labor which is about the only major constituency that seems to favor the Red Plan. (No Chamber folks spoke up for the Red Plan at the last School Board meeting)

Bill also makes the laughable claim that 70% of Duluth supports the Red Plan. Maybe that why I keep hearing that a lot of folks regret that they didn’t vote for me in last fall’s election.

“The Duluth Federation of Teachers president, Duluth Chamber of Commerce, Central Labor Body and 70 percent of Duluth citizens support the plan. The Minnesota Department of Education has approved the plan after intense scrutiny. In the face of this support, how will they explain to the workers that won’t be employed because the district has to stop the construction schedule – causing additional tax dollars to be wasted on construction delays? In reviewing what the DFL stands for, they forgot the “L” portion of the party’s mission.”
