Closed campus discussion closed for now

I think the respectful emails that Deputy Police Chief Tusken and I sent each other are good examples of how a conversation, even when typed out, should proceed. Ultimately I think we both agreed to disagree although the subject of Closed Campuses may very well be revisited.

In our last exchange I did note that I was sorry that Officer Tusken and other police who had worked on closed campuses and come to expect them for nearly a year had to read about the School Board’s change of heart in the newspaper. That’s not how partners should find about things. Its not how school board members should find out about things. Hint, hint.

I’ll chalk it off to oversight, at least in this instance, but too many instances of oversight might push me over the edge toward crankiness. I have been asked by Administration to submit questions in advance of meetings so that they can study and prepare good replies. Making sure not to take people by surprise is a two-way street.
