I finished reading Bill Bryson’s book One Summer America 1927 yesterday before Claudia headed out to the Twin Cities and her seminary classes. What a great book about the year my Mother was conceived. It was signally the year that Minnesota boy Charles Lindbergh flew across the Atlantic. (He was the second to accomplish this although he got to Paris not just the Irish coast)
I added it to my growing list of books read from cover to cover in my reading list.
Bryson is a humorist but this is great history, readable, ironic, fascinating.
