A pleasant break

Its quite pleasant for me when I skip writing in the blog. I’ve been much more faithful at posting for the past couple months than I intended. I had planned to write my book hell bent for leather. Instead I’ve spent much more time than I’d anticipated organizing a couple more collections of materials – timelines, court docs and hand written notes.

I’ll get to the book. I will. Just a little more tinkering. I appreciate your patience.

As for today. I went to the movie the Iron Giant with my grandsons. That’s one of the pleasures of having young children or grandchildren – delving into their entertainments with no embarrassment.

I had read the original book to my children when it came out in the 1980’s but the movie was made in 1999 when my kids were in high school so I missed it. The movie makes a few significant deviations from the book I remember but its a good flick. It was fine for my four year old Tan Man but it scared my two year old Jake-ee. His mother missed most of it waiting for us and the Tan Man and I kept the pop corn.

I did spend a couple hours sorting the interview notes today but my most productive time was spent trying to describe some complicated history to my wife. She hates politics so it was a little like trying to sell her on pornography. Still, its good practice summarizing.

Next week. That should be a good week for writing.

Oh yeah. I’ve got to thank you all for keeping my threat to run for Congress from my wife. Its a secret that’s still between you and me. Don’t worry. When someone finally spills the beans I’ll just tell Claudia that I’m only using the threat to sell books.
