Fly or Drive?

Here’s a cool website. It allows you to compare the cost, time and carbon burning results of a trip between any two destinations.

I compared the difference between each mode of transportation if I were to travel from Duluth to St. Louis, MO. It turned out I would save both money and carbon by traveling by vehicle even with my Chevy Traverse (although I would more likely to make the trip with a Toyota Camray Hybrid.) It would be a whole lot quicker to fly though.

Door-to-Door, each way

Fly…………………………………………..Drive

4 hours, 46 minutes………………………1 day, 3 hours, 47 minutes

Total Cost
$830.00…………………………………….$447.88

CO2 Impact:

1,978 lbs……………………………………1,383 lbs.
